  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix all spices together.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine tomato paste, water, honey (or maple syrup), molasses, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Add the spice mixture from step one to the saucepan and stir until incorporated.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce heat to low.
  5. Simmer for about 30 minutes while stirring occasionally to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Adjust thickness by adding water if needed.
  7. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days.
