  • 2 tsp black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 cup coconut milk (full-fat or light)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 34 whole cardamom pods, slightly crushed
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 23 whole cloves
  • 12 tbsp coconut sugar (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a saucepan. Add the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, ginger, and cloves. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add black tea leaves or tea bags to the pot. Steep for 3-5 minutes based on desired strength.
  3. Pour in the coconut milk and reduce heat to low; simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in coconut sugar to adjust sweetness based on preference.
  5. Strain the mixture into cups using a fine mesh sieve to remove solids.
