Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups flour + 2 tbsp (divided)
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips or nuts
  • 1 cup quartered blackberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Mix in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, combine 1 ¼ cups flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  4. Fold in the oats and chocolate chips until evenly mixed.
  5. Coat quartered blackberries with the remaining flour to prevent color bleed and gently fold them into the dough.
  6. Use a cookie scoop to drop dough onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12–13 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for about 5–7 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
